It’s light but tasty, that’s why this Bacon and Green Beans Sauté is a staple in my kitchen and loved by all in my household. Quick and easy to make with only 5 ingredients. Share as a side by itself or as a main dish served with brown rice. Cooks in one pan and ready in about 30 minutes. I usually serve this Bacon and Green Beans Sauté with sliced boiled eggs or fried eggs for a fulfilling, protein-packed meal.

6 slices bacon, chopped
2 pounds green beans, ends trimmed
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
In a large all-purpose pan, cook bacon over medium heat until brown and crisp. Set bacon aside and leave 3 tablespoons of bacon oil in the pan.
Stir in green beans, garlic, onion and salt, and cook until green beans are tender, about 10 minutes. Turn heat off, stir in bacon to combine.
Tips: If serving rice, don’t forget to cook it—with instant pot, rice cooker or stove top—just before or between cooking the main dish to ensure it’s ready to serve along with your other dishes. For ease and speed, try folding 2 bacon slices in half and cut them up with kitchen shears. Use the same plate or bowl the bacon was cut on to transfer the cooked bacon for less dirty dishes, and there’s no need to line the plate or bowl with paper towel. To make this kid friendly, chop or cut the green beans into 1-inch bite-sized pieces.
